What is the Public Blockchain? A public blockchain is a distributed database that is shared among the nodes of a computer network. Blockchains are best known for their role in cryptocurrency systems such as Bitcoin. The innovation with blockchain is that it guarantees the fidelity and security of a record of data and generates trust without the need for a trusted third party.

How we use it: Lifecycle uses blockchain to securely store payment receipts, communications, and opt-in confirmations from patrons. This provides non-repudiation, or assurance that neither party can deny the transaction occurred. For example, a patron can not deny they signed up to receive digital communications, and a business cannot deny a patron made a payment. This provides peace-of-mind to both parties, the patron and the business.

What is Machine Learning? Machine Learning is a subset of Artificial Intelligence. It is the use and development of computer programs that are able to learn and adapt without following explicit instructions, by using algorithms and statistical data models to analyze and draw inferences from patterns in data.

How we use it: Lifecycle uses Machine Learning to build 'Payer Personas' from payment transactions. These are profile of users that make payments, what steps the payer used, how much they agreed to pay, how many payments they needed to make in order to satisfy their account balance, and more. Each month, Lifecycle runs payment information and communications from patrons through a data algorithm to generate these personas and data models. We then use 'human intuition' to determine any adjustments to our ChatBot that we use to facilitate payments. Our ChatBot essentially learns from past transactions to better guide the patron to make a larger payment, or more frequent payments. In the end, this gets businesses paid more money, and paid quicker.

What is Artificial Intelligence? Artificial Intelligence is the wide-ranging branch of computer science concerned with building smart machines (or software programs) that mimic human intelligence to perform tasks and make decisions.

How we use it: Lifecycle uses Artificial Intelligence in our payments ChatBot to ask probing questions to patrons and try to facilitate the largest payment from the patron that they can make to the business. Our ChatBot draws upon past payments and our Machine Learning data models to interact with each patron in a way that is most appealing to them, based on similar experiences the ChatBot had. Our ChatBot can also follow various pre-programmed routines as determined by the business using our services, and can be adjusted as needed.

What is the Cyber Resilience? Cyber Resilience is the ability to prepare for, respond to, and recover from cyber threats. The ultimate goal of cyber resiliency is to help an organization thrive in the face of adverse conditions.

How we use it: Lifecycle uses the concept of Cyber Resilience in our software development lifecycle and in our virtual cloud environments that host our solutions. We employ industry leaders in cybersecurity to apply layered defense and secure systems. We also "shift security left", which means security has been included in every step of the software development process to provide secure solutions to our end users, whether that is our API offerings, our customer management portals, or our ChatBot utilized by patrons. What are Cloud Technologies? Cloud Computing and Cloud Technologies provide on-demand availability of computer system resources without direct active management from the user.

How we use it: Lifecycle uses Cloud Technologies to provide on-demand, elastic resources to all of our customers. As demand for our services increases, resources are automatically allocated to provide for this. We utilize redundant virtual computer systems, so if a system goes down a backup is in-place instantly to continue the work with little to no down time.
